Hi! *looks around* This looks nice, and wait...a place to discuss my two favourite subjects, Louis Febre & Smallville!!! You already know how much I love your work on Smallville, Louis! ;D I must say, after knowing how HARD you work on Smallville's score, whenever I watch other tv shows now, I find myself paying MORE attention to the score than I would have before! (of course, all others pale in comparison to YOURS!! ) See, you have brought a new appreciation for beautiful music to me! I can't thank you enough!

I just wanted to chime in here and thank Louis for ten years of some of the most gorgeous and memorable music ever written for television. I know that most of you, while knowing his work, have not had the great pleasure to know him also as a friend. As someone who has come to learn that Louis's generosity and compassion truly are a match for his immense talent, I'm honored and privileged to call him a friend. I'm very glad that his fans will have a place now to get together and share their appreciation for what he's created. You've shaped the melodic landscape of Superman for an entire generation, Louis. Thank you from all of us. And thank you, Lisa, for putting all of this together and being the missing piece in such a fine man's life. All my thanks to both of you. ::smile::

Louis, you've done a great job composing high quality scores on a weekly basis the past few years now. When Mark Snow moved on, I was genuinely concerned about a dropoff in the quality of the music. My fears were quickly set aside as the high quality continued, and even far exceeded my expectations.
I have one request from a fan's standpoint. When the time comes for Clark to fly with Lois in the "real world", as I'm sure it will, I think it would be cool to borrow a little snippet from Maestro Williams' "Can You Read My Mind?" theme. That is, of course, if the powers that be are able to obtain or pay for the usage rights. Just a thought. Keep up the great work! I can't wait for April 15th and beyond!

There's a bunch of people on Twitter talking about how @loufeb will probably use & edit JW's score for the finale & they can't wait to hear how it turns out. Um... Can I just vent here & say wtf? Why? WHY?!

The site has come together wonderfully! I'm really impressed. Now where's our CD? LOL. We are never satisfied! Now that I can type more than 140 characters, maybe I should come up with that list.
Only thing is...MORE, MORE, MORE music please! I can't stop listening to the "Burning Towers "snippit. It isn't nearly long enough. I know that was probably all there was, but I could have taken about an hour of that.
Now to look around some more...
Classy website for a very classy guy! Thanks for the musical memories!

Why? WHY?! I now, Lisa, it is definitely 'wtf' territory. What makes it worse is how flippant they are when they say it, as if the blood sweat and tears of Louis' work for the last 10 years means nothing to them. It is like running a marathon, and then having the ribbon taken away just as you are about to cross it and being told, the race is over, someone else won it! Louis is the voice for Smallville now, the music from the movies should STAY in the movies. It is time to move on and let Louis shine in Smallville's light, he is after all, professional, talented pasionate and devoted to bringing Smallville home, the way it should be!

That's exactly it - they are being flippant! Fickle. It's almost treachery in a way - I mean, I know no one really "knows" him personally, but it's hurtful. We were talking about it and I said it would be like Johannes Brahms being told that he was doing a good job at writing symphonies, but Beethoven wrote a great 3rd symphony, so we're going to use his instead. BLAH!! I am still FUMING over it all... but I think after he told off a few people on Twitter the buzz has died down a bit. Didn't help that KS made that comment (and laughed!) in that interview... It is nice that *I* can get all huffy in public, though! But I don't want him to get in trouble for anything hot tempered & spontaneous I might say! LOL!!

I think some people are just too stuck in the past. I mean, I adore John Williams and his music but c'mon that was almost 33 years ago now. This is the 21st century. And throughout the entire decade of the 2000s and now into the 2010s, Smallville has been this generation's incarnation of Superman! And Louis's music has been its voice. Throughout the show, and especially the last two seasons for me, he's created so many memorable pieces and themes. I think the shift that started in Season 8 moving to be more centered around Metropolis and in adult Superman territory increased the opportunity for more recurring recognizable themes and I've loved it! I can't wait (well I can 'cause I don't want the show to end) to hear his score and our Clark Kent's Superman Theme for the Finale.

I find it interesting... Louis made a real shift in his compositional style toward the end of season 8 which has been maturing & ripening ever since! With the final few episodes to go, he just keeps getting better & better! He's astounding me on a daily basis. I hear the stuff he is writing and I don't know how he keeps topping himself.
After Smallville... I believe there are BIG things in his future. He's been in the shadows too long (the shadow of Mark Snow & John Debney) and it's time for him to step into the light. He needs to put on his super suit & fly away into the sunset!!! I can't imagine that anyone wanting to hire him for their show or movie wouldn't be impressed with what he has produced in the last couple years. There are few composers out there writing at this level, and he needs to start being appreciated for the amazing talent that he is.
But, like I said on the other board: I am hardly an objective fan!!! LOL!!!!
